Movies, games, and music are all part of the fun for this family's media room. DVD's are the main attraction, along with an X-Box game setup for the two boys and their friends. Hi-Def Cable TV makes the most of sporting events (especially the games of the Fighting Illini).
The built-in custom Cherry wood gear cabinet allows easy access for servicing of cabling and equipment. The closet space also provides extra storage space for games and DVD's. All of the trim and casing is custom milled cherry to match the existing trim in the upper floors of the house.
A raised platform and soft leather theater chairs adds an extra level of comfort for an evening's entertainment. The Runco DLP Projector is enclosed in a ceiling projector box to help with noise damping and aesthetics.
The wet bar area in the room adjoining the theater provides all the amenities of a small kitchen, including granite counter tops, a mini-fridge, ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, overhead wine rack, and filtered water. This Niwot home theater project was part of a large walk-out basement finish that includes a guest bedroom, a bedroom/artist space, two bathrooms, and a connecting hallway.
