Basement Basics

Rock Creek Area
Superior, CO
2002

A classic basement home theater, functional and comfortable, located in Rock Creek, Superior, CO. A good example of how careful planning can turn a relatively small area into a room that is a functional and enjoyable space for family and friends. The built-in gear and media storage cabinets are tucked in under the stairs for easy access to the cabling. The large-box TV is built in to it's own room for easy servicing, and the (5) high-performance Sonance in-wall speakers maintain the clean look necessary in a smaller space.

This was a typical Colorado basement, with concrete walls and minimum lighting. Now in this rather long room there is a 58" Sony CRT hi-def rear-projection TV, comfortable seating, a granite wet-bar, and in the back of the room, a round table with four chairs for casual dining. The rest of the basement finish includes two large bedrooms with exterior windows, a bathroom, a large utility room, and lots of storage space.
